My Journey to Direction
Spirituality has always played a key role in my life. I was raised in a small United Methodist Church surrounded by loving families that grounded me in the importance of spiritual community.
In my teens and twenties, I participated in a variety of Charismatic and Evangelical congregations before ultimately leaving the church altogether.
Though I still believed in a God, I struggled with addiction and alcoholism, and could not find the peace I was looking for inside the four walls of a church.

Vision
In November of 2012, I took my last drink and surrendered to a new God of my understanding that I found in a 12-step fellowship. As I grew in my own spiritual life, others began to seek me out for spiritual guidance and companionship, and I recognized that my Higher Power had given me a gift that I could use to help others like me.

The final nudge came in the spring of 2022 when a dear friend attempted suicide and received a well-meaning, but critical visit from a spiritual care provider. I thought that if I had been there, I would have offered my friend more compassion and empathy. I grieved that I could not be there for them. A gentle voice whispered that perhaps I could "be there for the next person in need."
Mission
Two years later, I graduated from Florida International University with my BA in Religious Studies. In the fall of 2024, I entered the United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities to pursue my Master of Divinity in Spiritual Direction.

I bring a rich foundation of spiritual practices to my work as a Spiritual Director. I am an active member of my recovery community and sit regularly with a Zen sangha. Additionally, I am a member of Lake Worth United Church of Christ, a congregation that is open and affirming to people of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender expressions, and religious or non-religious leanings. I practice social justice with PEACE, a group of local congregations who bring targeted solutions to our elected officials in Palm Beach County for the issues that most affect our citizens.
